Mladen Stanev

Mladen Stanev is a graduate of the State Music Academy "Professor Pancho Vladigerov" - Sofia. In 1998 he graduated with a master's degree in choral conducting from the Faculty of Theory, Composition and Conducting. He participated in master classes (Prof. Erwin Ortner - 2006) and postgraduate qualifications.

Since 2000 he has worked as choirmaster at the Stara Zagora State Opera, where he also conducts concerts and performances for children. In his practice he has worked on a repertoire of over 50 opera titles, operettas, and cantata-oratorio works. He has conducted various choral and vocal ensembles, some of which have won prizes in choral competitions. With them, as well as with the Opera Chorus, he has performed in almost all European countries, in Turkey and the USA.

He is a jury member of national and international choral and singing competitions (among them the International Choral Competition Harmanfolk - Istanbul, Turkey.

He is the Artistic Director of the Cultural Centre of the Minyo Balkansky Foundation and of the National Music Festival "Petko Stainov" - Kazanlak. He runs a holiday music school for children.

He is the author of compositions, arrangements for various vocal and instrumental ensembles, has published music articles and criticism.
